Started sailing with the Antwerp Sea Scouts. At 21 years bought a first boat (Carter Dingbat quarter tonner) together with my 2 brothers, then in 1996 we acquired a Berret half tonner and started the serious racing (Class President of the Half Ton Class Europe). In 2009 we bought a larger one-tonner (a Stephen Jones Oyster SJ41) and continued racing, winning a.o. a Round the Island Race, an Oyster Regatta in Cowes and the One Tonner Revival Races... Now it's time to broaden the horizon, and at my 50th birthday I decided that an AZAB was a better idea than a large motor bike, so here we come... in a 3/4 Tonner...
