'NDYC' North Devon Yacht Club and 'SORC' Solo Offshore Racing Club
This is my second Azab, but my first time doing it Solo. You can’t miss my J105, “Fluke IV – Ocean Elements”, as she has my Company* logos pasted over the hull. Small recompense for the bills paid to get her ready for ocean racing! I am also raising awareness of plastic in our oceans; and so you will also see logos for ‘Plastic Free Coastlines’, by Surfers Against Sewage. I will also be using the race to raise funds for charity, ‘Sail4Cancer’. I have done about 17,000+ miles solo and shorthanded yacht racing (mostly solo) and at least 7 seasons of solo racing, (on and off), with SORC. Notable races: I’ve done two Solo Fastnets, (Round Rock). And came 8th in 2018 after nearly 6 days of close racing - finishing just 2 mins 47 secs behind fellow J105, Voador. Very tiring! Also 3rd overall in 2017 Wolf Rock race; and 3rd overall in the SORC inshore series in my Sunfast 3200 a few years back. *Ocean Elements is part of Alpine Elements (Skiing Tour Operator) and operates Beach Clubs and Yacht charters in Greece - all RYA Training Centres.
