MilouOlle EnderleinOE32Sail No.GBR4846LBoat Length9.89Rory HamiltonDouble-handedThe Olle Enderlein 32 (OE32) is a classic Scandanavian long-keeler with a canoe stern. Milou was built in 1990 by Sundeved’s Yacht Builders in Sønderborg Denmark. Milou chalked up more than 2,500 miles last year between the Outer Hebrides and the Basque Country. Mark and Rory hope she can make swift progress to Punta Delgada.
Mark Thompson and Rory Hamilton first sailed together in 2003 as junior deck officers on the RFA Wave Knight when she was deployed to the Caribbean and Eastern USA. They both sail 32ft boats, often with their families and sometimes single handed. Mark competed in the solo Fastnet last year on his Contessa 32 Syzygy. Last summer Rory and his family sailed Milou from Scotland to the Channel Islands to meet Mark and his family who are based on the Solent. The previous summer Milou and Syzygy rendezvoused in the Isles of Scilly. They regularly sail with each other including the Round the Island Race and longer passages too. Mark and Rory are looking forward to the challenge of their longest planned voyage to date and all the social opportunities of the AZAB.
